Fidel Castro Said he was not a Communist!

Technorati Profile

Five decades ago, Fidel Castro assured the world, he wasn't a communist, much like Hugo Chavez is currently doing, while systematically getting rid of his opposition and taking over Venezuela's free market. Most recently he has threatened to close down Globovision. Communists though armed to the teeth are afraid of ideas and will stop at nothing to stop free thinking. As tragic as this may sound, I think Venezuela has reached the point of now return.

Venezuelans should have seen this coming, the moment Chavez and Castro became chummy, but they refuse to see the obvious and I understand that there are still people that believe in him.

In this video Castro assures us in English that he is not a communist.

It's funny you should say that people still believe in him... I was recently chewed out via email by a woman from Caracas who bashed me for not liking Castro and complaining about Chavez, she really went to town, I actually learned new ways to swear in Spanish. When I answered all of her criticism in a calm, cool, composed and above all educated manner; and tore down every single one of her arguments for Chavez and Castro. Her only response was: "Well Bush is the biggest murderer in the history of the world."

I just told her that if she'd really paid attention to my blog she'd know that I was Canadian and as such, the US presidency is none of my business and second of all you can't even compare Bush to people like Stalin and Hitler.

I'm still waiting for an answer.
I don't think I'm going to get one.

I believe it! I've heard praises for Chavez from people too. Makes me sick!

There's a saying in Spanish that goes, "Cria Fama y Acuestate a dormir". I don't know how to translate it, but it's about how people can get a reputation that has nothing to do with who they really are and Castro and Chavez are master manipulators as far a publicity for themselves goes.

They both have a propaganda machine. One has only to look at Che's image to know how with the right publicity even a murderer can be turned into a martyr, loved by the masses.

Chavez has rapped the poor around his finger by giving them food, much like Trujillo from Dominican Republican did and then once his government takes root, he will stop and then they will understand what Cubans have been telling the world for the past fifty years.

Muchacho I haven't forgotten about your drawings, I've set a goal to sit down and finish by this weekend.

People in Venezuela are starting to open their eyes, I mean how could not after watching "Hello President!" every Sunday for 5 hours at a time...

About the drawings you've got more than enough time my friend! I'll be out of here for the next two weeks. I'll be posting via proxy but probably won't feel like checking my email ;) and THANK YOU!
